Vajira Priyadarshani Peiris
Vajira Peiris is the visionary founder and owner of Perez Leather Artisans, combining academic rigor, entrepreneurial drive, and a passion for design consulting:
Higher-Education Mentorship
Vajira has served as a consultant and lecturer in design education, mentoring emerging artisans and integrating scholarship with practical craft, strengthening both academic and craft communities. She continues this work with internships and other oppertunities in perez leather artisans.
Academic Credentials
With a Master’s in Fashion Artefact from London College of Fashion (LCF), Vajira’s formal training focuses on fashion artefacts and design research, bringing depth and discipline to every piece she creates.
Industry Expertise & Entrepreneurship
Since launching Perez Leather Artisans in 2018, she has grown the brand from a small home workshop into a recognized leather studio in Sri Lanka. Vajira oversees all aspects—from design development to client relations—showcased on Instagram and Facebook.
Design & Innovation Consultancy
As a seasoned Design Consultant in Research & Innovation, she has guided heritage craft projects and product development with a research-driven approach. Her strategic consulting helps bridge traditional methods with modern market needs.
